It really helped put the concept of Communities of Practice into perspective. Another one I know that kinda follows the same lines is: You can only get so far on your own two feet. It's a waste of brain cells if we can't use them to help others learn as well. It goes back to that idea of collective intelligence where the knowledge of the individual is the knowledge of the group. If we didn't share information, it would not only be languishing in our brains, but we would also be cut off from a majority of our knowledge. It's a shame about that glitch. That is a really great quote. I think I get stuck in that line of thinking- that I have to figure it out by myself, or I won't learn it. But, how much easier is learning when it's done in a group?
